Cereal specks are super professional

I had a late deadline today. Naturally, I figured I'd be more productive if I had something to eat, so I popped down to the store quick. Unfortunately, I was hungry, so I ended up buying three bags of groceries. Most of them are good, adult-type groceries, like yogurt and orange juice with calcium and vitamin D.

Then there's the Cap'n Crunch Crunch Berries.

Which are still totally good adult buys because they're part of this complete breakfast.

Except when they're not. Sometimes you end up just snacking on them for 45 minutes while reading Hyperbole and a Half and the next thing you know you are covered from head to toe in Crunch Berries dust. It's all over my desk, over all of my notes and in the cracks of my keyboard. I swear I have a red, blue and gold mustache. And, like a small child, it's all down my front.

Today would be the day I decided to go Casual Monday and "professionalize" my Green Lantern tee. I look like a ComiCon reject who can't feed herself.

I don't even know how this happened.

Worst of all, I'm still not even sort of done with this project. (So I blog. Nice one.)

Meetings are boring.

Unicorns are not boring.

I had a meeting, and it was boring and stressful all at the same time, and the only way, apparently, to get through one of those things is by drawing a unicorn bowling alley. The toughest part, obviously, was making it look like I was taking actual notes instead of drawing a unicorn bowling alley.

I am an adult, I have a real full-time job, and all kinds of other responsibilities that ought to make me all kinds of mature — you know, sensible, reliable, dependable, lots of other words ending in "-ible."

However, I have found that I am most capable of doing those adult-like things when I cut loose a bit and give into my velociraptor-drawing side. It just helps somehow. And my mom thinks it's brilliant, so I like to think the random stuff I come up with gives me an edge in my never-ending quest to become her favorite child.

So here is what I did today: me riding a dilophosaurus as part of the Dinosaur Patrol. Very elite.
